The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a special weather statement for snowfall in the Lake Tahoe area for South Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Incline Village, Glenbrook and Tahoe City. A low pressure system is likely to bring light snowfall to the Sierra as well as southern Lyon and far western Mineral counties in Nevada, mainly above 6,500 to 7,000 feet, Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the NWS. The Lily Lake Trail is a 2.1-mile multi-use trail that will connect to the newly built trail system on Angora Ridge. It will feature stunning views of Desolation Wilderness, Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe. It will also reduce traffic on narrow roads and offer new access to hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians who want a car-free way to enjoy Fallen Leaf Lake, Glen Alpine Springs and Desolation Wilderness.The Forest Service and the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) started building the trail last year, but they can’t complete this challenging section of trail without proper equipment and professional crews. Every dollar raised was matched with two dollars from Vail Resorts through their guest donation program until we reached the total goal of $75,000.
