Businesses in the Lake Tahoe Basin are invited to apply until June 7 for low or no-cost bike racks; program designed to encourage more people to ride instead of drive. Following the successful first phase of the “Bike Racks for Businesses” program that was introduced to agencies in 2018, the nonprofit Tahoe Fund will continue its partnership with the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition (Bike Coalition) to offer low or no-cost bike racks to interested businesses in the Tahoe Basin. The program is designed to encourage locals and visitors to ride their bikes around lakeside communities instead of drive. Click here to finish reading. 
With inventory low, buyers are having a tough time finding the perfect home in Lake Tahoe. With so many great lots available and mortgage rates being so low, now is a great time to build! However, there are some regulations in Tahoe that can make it a little more complicated in comparison to other areas. Restrictions on new construction and mandated upgrades for existing homes are put into place for the purpose of preserving, protecting and enhancing the unique environment of our Region. In addition to the normal procedure of obtaining permits to build a home, there is also the Tahoe Regional Planning Association (TRPA), which oversees how large you can build, or even if you can build.
