As we enter new waters of 2019, we write to share our Lake Tahoe real estate forecast.
 
Good news – 2019 should be a year of stabilization in our South Shore Lake Tahoe real estate markets with slow and steady forward movement, both in sales at 2% – 3.5% and pricing projected at 3%- 3.5% appreciation as forecast by National Association of Realtors and California Associations of Realtors. Since the bottom of the market in 2012, we have seen double digit uptick in pricing (year over year) but a decline in sales due to the pricing increase which presented affordability issues. The good news – US underlying economic fundamentals are forecast to be stable to good: GDP at just under 2.5%, unemployment decreasing to 4% and interest rates projected to hover in the 5%+ range, all of which contribute to consumer confidence uptick!
